Model deep-dive
Veo 3.1 vs Seedance 2.0: which to use
Both models are available in StoryStudio over the same MCP connection, so the real question is not which one to sign up for, it is which one fits the shot you are generating right now.
Veo 3.1 Fast: cinematic, with sound, fast
Veo 3.1 Fast produces 8-second shots at 720p, in 16:9 or 9:16, with native audio generated alongside the video. It is the model to reach for when the mood matters as much as the resolution: a beauty campaign, a moody establishing shot, a scene that needs ambient sound or dialogue baked in.
Seedance 2.0: resolution and length
Seedance 2.0 renders natively up to 4K (3840×2160, 10-bit H.265) and supports longer durations than Veo, from 4 to 15 seconds. It is the model for product close-ups, architectural detail, or anything that needs to hold up on a large screen or survive heavy cropping. It defaults to 480p unless you ask for a higher tier explicitly, since 1080p and 4K cost more credits.
Picking one from your agent
You do not have to choose upfront. Describe the shot, mention the resolution or duration you need, and StoryStudio routes the generation to the model suited to that brief. A request for "an 8-second cinematic beauty shot with a warm voice-over" routes to Veo 3.1 Fast; a request for "a 4K product close-up, 12 seconds" routes to Seedance 2.0.
